We have completed another online video for our client Energy Australia. The video will be shared on the company's social media and web pages.
This video was a mixture of live footage and simple animations. The footage we filmed was all external, with limited lighting set ups needed. We used dollies so there'd be movement on every shot.
This shoot needed a great location and the house we filmed at ticked every box. I'd created detailed storyboards for my client ahead of the shoot, so I had a particular look in mind before I started checking out properties. The place we ended up filming at came via my art director. It was a property she had worked at previously and I was very happy with it.
The video was filmed in the midst of a Melbourne winter and it was bitterly cold and rainy for most of the day. Some of the shots were slowed down in post production in order to hide thrashing leaves and trees, caused by strong, blowing winds. Luckily, when we were filming the wide shot of the house and garden, the clouds disappeared and gave us beautiful blue sky. You'd never know we were all standing shivering behind the camera!
With the animation, we kept everything in line with Energy Australia's style guide and colours. We wanted the animation to be simple, clean and effective. The animations add some fun and character to the video too.
We're very happy with how the video came out. Let us know what you think.
