7 Days of (Paper-Free) Christmas

Pickle Pictures Melbourne video

Not long ago, one of our colleagues shared a story with us.

At their last workplace, people used to include those quaint little please consider the environment before you print phrases at the end of their emails. Employees would print their emails regardless, usually forgetting about them entirely and leaving them by the photocopier the ‘place where emails would go to die’. The most ridiculous thing was that nine times out of ten, that little phrase would be the only thing at all on the final page. So much for conservation.

If you hadn’t noticed, paper usage is definitely on the way out. But when all you want to do this Christmas is thank your clients for their time, investment and business, why not consider the myriad ways you do so sans paper?

Move over, 12 Days of Christmas. It’s time for the 7 Days of (Paper-Free) Christmas!

You’re welcome.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

1. A hilarious, personalised JibJab video

JibJab certainly wins the award for the most hilarious option for sending Christmas greetings this season. Superimpose your faces on to a bunch of very Christmassy (and very ridiculous) characters and watch your office end up in stitches. Best thing? It’s free.

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

2. A Jacquie Lawson masterpiece

Jacquie Lawson is a British illustrator who has built up a gorgeous collection of animated Flash greeting cards, many with accompanying music. They aren't free, but the quality is amazing. A great option for your corporate partners.

On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

3. A vintage gem of yesteryear

Are you well over those garish cards that drown you in digital glitter, music, and overbearing graphics? Victorian Trading Co. might just be for you! Many of these free cards are over 100 years old (recreated for the digital setting), the perfect option for the traditionalists and vintage enthusiasts in your life.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

4. An e-card with a difference

CharityCards.com.au is an e-commerce site with a twist. 20c of every dollar you spend on the site goes to a charity of your choice. Choose the receipient of your donation from the site’s extensive selection after you design your special, personalised greeting.

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

5. A fully-customised Hallmark

Hallmark is a name synonymous with greeting cards. It’s for good reason too: having recently refurbished their online offerings, Hallmark now offers – for a subscription fee – a huge range of fully customisable options that are slick, professional, and heartfelt.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

6. A puppy

Okay... well yeah, but in card form. The gorgeous canine muses of Sloppy Kiss Cards will keep your loved ones cosy and entertained. You can choose from any of their gorgeous, existing designs or create your own too, perhaps inspired by your own little doggo friend.

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...
