What Is The Process For Creating Animations?

The process for creating an animation
STEP 1: LET’S CHAT
Not all film production companies are created equal.
At Pickle, everything starts with great communication. Clients get in touch with us (via phone/email, or a video chat) and we talk about your project’s needs, aims, goals and timelines.
STEP 2: QUOTE
From there, we provide a quote.
Our video production services quote will provide you with comprehensive, costed-out information on the exact services and products we recommend as a best-fit solution to your goals and needs.
STEP 3: SCRIPT IT OUT
After the quote is approved, it’s time to finalise scripting and/or brief details.
We can edit your rough-draft scripts, write one ourselves from scratch, or simply work with a final copy that’s provided from your end. If the video is interview based, you’ll usually provide the questions – but as an end-to-end, strategy-embedded production company, we can help you with this too, if you wish!
If your animation is for social media video content, we’ll help you make sure it’s the right duration, content style and more for this format.
STEP 4: LOCK IN THE SCHEDULE
From here, it’s time to lock in timelines
If we’re filming, we lock in the crew and determine locations. We can film nationwide and supply a full crew if needed including camera operators, directors, sound recordists, make-up, and more. As additional options to the standard camera kit, we can include teleprompters, portable green screens and/or drones.
STEP 5: VOICEOVER
Good film production companies will maintain a strong network of professional services – including voiceover artists!
And so, it’s now time to get the voiceover recorded for your animation. We’ll send over some sound samples so you can choose your preferred voice from our network of talent.
STEP 6: STORYBOARD TIME
Next, we create either a storyboard for the project, or – if you want to keep things simple – we can supply a single ‘styleframe’. This is a static image in which we’ve designed a frame, from the script, that showcases your branding colours, elements, and the animation design – all in one spot.
From here, we get to work on a full draft of the animation. We provide two rounds of changes, as per our quotes.
STEP 7: POST-PRODUCTION
Finally, it’s time to get stuck into the post-production work. If you’re making an animation for social media video content purposes, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s finished in a way that respects how the platform operates.
At Pickle, we supply music tracks and subtitles, and can add any text on screen or logos, as needed.
STEP 8: HANDOVER
After everything is completed, we send over the final HD video file for you to upload to your preferred platform(s).
